James Martin Curtois

Baptised 4 January 1866 at Brothertoft, third son of Frederick Curtois. Died at Donisthorpe, Leics., 31 December 1944. In 1881 was a boarder at Cranford College, Cookham, Berks., and in 1891 a lodger at Little Bowden in Leicestershire ("Bankers Clerk"). Living at Beechwood Avenue in Pontefract in 1911 ("Bank Manager"). Sole executor to his father's estate in 1912.

Married at Donisthorpe 23 March 1902 (though registered in the second quarter), Maud Fowler. She was born at Donisthorpe 10 January 1873, daughter of John Walter Fowler and Anne his wife, and died 25 September 1948.

Issue two daughters and one son:

  1. Margaret Ann Curtois, birth registered at Pontefract 2nd quarter, 1907. Married at Donisthorpe 3 October 1936, Hugh Brandon Taylor.

  2. George Martin Curtois, born at Pontefract 18 April 1909.

  3. Mary Fowler Curtois. Born at Pontefract ca. 1910, and died ca. 1986.

    Married 11 June 1940 at Donisthorpe, Rev John Carrington Yates. He was born at Doncaster in May 1909.

Dr. George Martin Curtois

Lt.-Col. RAMC. Born at Pontefract 18 April 1909, son of James Martin Curtois, and died at Ashby de la Zouche 1 February 1989. Buried at Donisthorpe. Educated at St Peter's School, York, and Guy's Hospital. Lieutenant 23 April 1937, Captain 23 April 1938.

Married 25 July 1936 at St Michael's church, Cockerham, Marjorie Kathleen Proctor.

Issue two daughters and one son and several grandchildren. Not shown on the web!
