From the Lincolnshire Chronicle, Friday 17 January 1902
We regret to record the death of Miss Jessie Curtols, third daughter of our old rector, the late Rev. Peregrine Curtois. She died on January 7th, at Girton, near Cambridge, where she had resided for some time, after illness of some three months' duration. The funeral took place on the 10th, at two o'clook, in Branston Cemetery, the service in the church and the grave being conducted by her cousin, tbe Rev. Algernon Curtois, and the Rev. D. Maxwell, tbe present rector. The mourners were Major Chauncey Curtois (Buckden) Mr. Arthur Curtois (Lincoln), and Miss Emily Curtois (London), the brothers and her sister; and Mrs. Atwill and Mrs. Arthur Curtois, sisters-in-law of the deceased lady. The voluntaries both on entering and leaving the sacred edifice were feelingly played, and the hymn "There is a Blessed Home" was song by the choir. The coffin, which was of polished oak, with massive brass fittings, was covered with beautiful wreaths from tbe family, and lowered to its last resting-place beside her sister in the enclosed burial ground of the Curtois family. Tbe grave was lined with ivy. Mr. Cook, of Branston, was undertaker.
