OBITUARY.- Mr. Daniel Henry Lee Warner, second son of the late Rev. Atwill Curtois, of the Longhills, Branston, was taken suddenly ill in Paris where he was staying with his sister, Miss Edith Curtois for a short time. At first the illness was only slight, but it took a serious turn on May 30th, and the patient was removed to the American Nursing Home, Holy Trinity Lodge, but died at nine a.m. on Sunday, May 31st. The body was embalmed and removed to the mortuary chapel attached to the American church, Avenue de l'Alma, on Monday, June 1st. There was a service at that church on Friday last at 3 p.m., attended by the deceased's French friends, also present being the Rev. Huntley Curtois (brother), who read the lesson, Miss Ella Curtois (sister), Miss A. B. Lee Warner, and Miss F. Fountaine (cousins). The body left Paris in care of the Rev. H. Curtois on Monday last at 9 p.m., reaching Lincoln at 1.45 p.m. on Tuesday. The service held at Washingborough Church at 3 p.m. was conducted by the Rev. Algernon Curtois (brother) and the Rev. J. Dudding (Rector). The hymns sung were "Lead Kindly Light" and "How Sweet the Name." There were many people present from the village. The internment took place at Branston at 4 p.m., when the sentences werer read by the Rev. F.F. Smith (curate of Branston), the committal service by the Rev. A. Curtois, and the final prayers by the Rev. J. Kaye. There were many people present, and the wreaths were numerous. The mourners were:- Mr. Lisle Curtois, Miss Dering Curtois, Rev. H. Curtois, Miss Margaret Curtois, Miss Florence Curtois, Mr. Arthur Curtois, Miss Emily Curtois and Miss Evelyn Fountaine. The deceased was born on January 30th, 1859, and was educated at Bedford Grammar School. He resided at Washingborough Manor with his mother and family from 1876 to 1898, and frequently stayed at Washingborough since, to which place he was much attached, and where he was well known and respected. He was greatly interested in architecture and music, especially of the organ.
