Carrie Curtis Cutter, daughter of an early day Sacramento family and mother of Curtis H. Cutter, realator and builder, died last night in her home at 2760 Curtis Way. She was 91 years of age.

The Cutter Home stands under the same oak tree which shaded the family's original ranch home in which Mrs Cutter was born September 13, 1865.

Mrs. Cutter was the daughter of the late William Curtis and Susie Potter Curtis. Curtis came to Sacramento in 1852 around Cape Horn and settled on a ranch which since has been Curtis Park and Curtis Oaks.

Her husband, the late George H. Cutter, was a leader in establinshing the fruit growing industry in the Sacramento area and was one of the founders of the California Fruit Exchange. He served as President of the Fruit Exchange for 20 years.

Mrs. Cutter's sister, who died recently, was Mrs. William John Cooper of Berkeley, wife of the nationally known educator, former commissioner of education and State Superintendent of Public Instruction who died in 1935.

In addition to her son, Mrs. Cutter is survived by two grandchildren; Mrs. Robert Gordon Sproul Jr. of Berkeley and Curtis C. Cutter of Washington, DC. There are five great grandchildren, Robert Gordon Sproul III, Curtis Cutter Sproul, James Martin Sproul, Carrie Elizabeth Sproul and Collette Cutter.

Mrs. Cutter had not been active in community life for many years.

Friends are welcome in the Miller and Skelton Funeral Home until 9 o'clock tonight. Private services will be held.
